A FREE animal activism training and educational experience for Black, Indigenous, People of Color interested in becoming vegan.

At APEX Advocacy, we understand the importance of building bridges with members of other social justice movements. As we work to grow our community of BIPOC animal rights advocates, it will be essential to work with non-vegans in new and creative ways to grow the coalition of collective liberation.

We believe that all forms of oppression are interconnected and can therefore not be solved in isolation. With these values at the core of our organization, we are excited to announce our first ever Pre-Animal Activist Week (P.A.A.W.).

What is P.A.A.W.?

P.A.A.W. is an immersive, uplifting, and educational boot camp in which BIPOC activists passionate about social justice who are curious about veganism and the intersections between the oppression of animals and humans can gain experience in various forms of animal advocacy. This will serve as an opportunity for participants to view advocating for animals through a social justice lens. We will strategically select six participants with a passion for social justice from across the country and invite them to Atlanta, GA for four days of intersectional animal activism consisting of grassroots actions, street activism, workshops, entirely plant based meals and more – all led by a team of four diverse experienced advisors.

Rules & Guidelines

Meet the people behind P.A.A.W.

Lead Organizer

Christopher

“I am excited to introduce animal activism and veganism to advocates of color from other social justice movements. We hope P.A.A.W. can build new diverse leaders in the fight for animal rights.”

Lead Organizer

Luis

“I love how P.A.A.W. encapsulates MLK’s quote of ‘injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere.’ The plight of our fellow earthlings needs to be highlighted as a worthy cause. Speciesism has blinded us since birth that their suffering matters less than our own but whether they have fins, feathers or fur, our non-human animal brethren need their voices heard as much as we do. One struggle, one fight, human freedom & animal rights.”

Lead Organizer

Skye

“I’m most excited about P.A.A.W. because it will allow us to educate activists from other movements, empowering them to understand the importance of the animal rights movement and its interconnectedness with other causes.”

Wellness Advocate

Dominique

“I am so honored to share space and energy with a community of BIPOC animal rights advocates who are showing up for a very important and impactful cause. I look forward to witnessing the unfolding of P.A.A.W. whilst supporting the well-being of all involved.”
